DH with a stuck safety
 

My DH 12g is stuck in the safe position..... any ideas?

It could be any number of things. The only way of knowing is a strip, assessment and a good cleaning. Any issues would be readily evident.

I took the stock off and put the receiver back together, put the barrels on and triggers work fine, hammers drop, everything functioned fine. Put the stock back on and safety sticks. Have no clue and I don't know anyone in my area that works on these guns

Safety toggle is not aligned properly.

Go back in and very carefully reassemble while aligning safety toggie where it needs to be.

One thing is the stock is not original, it has a different serial number. Above the SN it has a number 3. I don't know if that means for a 3 frame??? even so, a 3 frame stock should fit a 1 right??

The 3 indicates the grade of the gun it was originally fitted to a 3 is a DH.
But the dimensions (top to bottom) or the wrist could have something to do with the operation of the safety.

Another common issue is the reset rod can be stuck in the safe position. This can be due to dirt/rust. Or the wood can swell and hold the rod tight.

Should I be able to easily remove the reset rod? It moves freely back and forth but I can not remove it due to contact with the wood.

The tang screw bushing needs to be removed for the rod to come out. But... if it is moving back and forth freely, then that is not your issue.

Since the butt stock is not original, tightening the upper tang screw and the lower trigger plate screw that is under the trigger guard to much could cause the safety toggle to bind up. After placing the safety toggle properly in place, tighten tang screw and trigger plate screw evenly and equally until tight. If safety does not move, loosen each screw @1/8 turn each until safety moves then loctite in place. If there is too much loosening to make it work, you can shim top or bottom depending which area is too deep
