Frame size?

Can someone help me to identify the frame size of this 1883 12ga Grade #2 hammer SxS?
The barrel hinge is stamped "1" with a sideways "6". Does this mean it's a 1 1/2 frame? See photo |

No, it's a stand alone numeral 1. It is a size 1-frame.
I have the same stamps on my 1884 1-frame C hammer gun No. 36488. . |
Got it.
Thanks Dean. Quote:

We don't know. In fact, about half of the stamps we see on Parker barrel flats, except for patent dates, we don't completely understand. They are most likely contractors' or workers' marks or inspectors' stamps. Heck, we don't even know what "OV" means on the Trojan barrel flats and water table.

The first picture that Roberto posted was my Grade 2 hammer gun with 30" barrels. I dont shoot it often, and just figured it was on a 2 frame. It weighs 8 lbs even on my postage scale. For a 1 frame , it sure is a porker!

Mine is 7 lbs., 12 oz. and it looks like we share the same barrel weight.

Dean, the OV on Trojan flats means "Oy vey".

Walter King, direct quote: "Oy vey! So we're making a $25.00 shotgun? Next thing you know, we will be making a single barrel. Oy vey!"

never say never, could have been an inside joke, lol. Good one Bill.

OV = obviously vintage

OV to my liking in Canada.

60 year ago , as underagers, we would buy "Canadian Ace" . 16 oz cost the same as Ballentine 12 oz.
