10 Ga. filler wad

Does any one have a source of non- fiber 16 ga. wads? The fiber wads i have been using give a confetti celebration with every shot which is ok until the breeze is in your face then my friends get it in their eyes and get crabby. Many years ago loading paper shells a card wad then a felt filler was used and i can't seem to find anything other than the fiber now. Any help greatly appreciated. Need felt wads or new friends!

he does mean 16 - it goes inside the 10 plastic wad to fill up space so a 1 1/8 load crimps correctly

I have not tried them in a short ten load, but over-powder wads are much denser than fiber wads, so they may reduce/eliminate the confetti effect.

You might want to send a note to Craig Smith who operates Circle Fly Wads in PA.
Here is a link to his web site: https://circlefly.com/
Craig is a super nice guy and any of you that were at Ernie's last month may recall Craig and his buddy Mark shooting the flurry with their black powder doubles.

There was a picture of them shooting the flurry in a post just around that time here on the PGCA forum.

I have been told the waxed fiber 16 g wads don’t spray as much fiber as the plain. 10 g wad recipe most of us use, SP 10 half 16 G fiber In the shot cup, works good I would not change it. One reason they pattern so well is the fiber comes apart on firing. Add something hard may change results.

Could be your friends should avoid outdoor sports.

IMHO- since the fiber wad should be in the bottom of the load- its not like the old overcards causing a hole in the pattern, so the only affect i can think the wad material could have on the pattern is that a very soft material may have some minor impact on set back deformation, but since its already in the sp10 cushioned wad- i doubt it would be noticeable

Yeah, use over powder card wads instead of fiber fillers.
