Question on barrel color for early hunter arms L.C.Smith with chain link damascus, it
appears to be more ofa brown and white than black and white such as Parker and Remington had?

Dale Edmonds is no longer doing Damascus barrels, last I heard. If you decide on him, check with him first before you send. It is too bad as well as Dale was one of (if not the) best.

It likely just aged that way. Some will do that.
I do not think any American maker actually “Browned” their barrels when new.
