Broke Ejectors
5 Attachment(s)
Has anyone experienced a broke/snapped ejectors in their Parker reproduction?
BTW,... I’ve had both the left and Right ejectors kickers snap off, right where the 1/2 round rod meets the rim face plate. They snapped appx. A month apart time wise. I shoot skeet with the gun 3 days a week and have put thousands of rounds through it. It’s the 28ga DHE. Fortunately I was able to repair them by precisely rigging them and clamping. I also ground a chamfer before welding. The hardest part was filling down the welding and refitting them. NOTE: the originals have a sharp corners where the 1/2 rod meets the rim face plate. I think this helps them snap ? So when I filed and fit I left a small radius in the corner for additional strength! Hence I also needed too cut a small chamfered counter sink at the top of the hole they fit into to allow clearance for the radius I left. All back together now and working fine again, Just wanted to let all the folks know, that this is fixable if any of yours snap ? The fix is somewhat intricate and time consuming, but better than trying to find a replacement. Good luck with that one ! The KEY is in rigging before weld ! ! ! |

How big of a hassle is it to turn one of these guns into an extractor operation and avoid all these ejector issues? Is it something you can do yourself and if not is there anyone in central Missouri you fellows are aware of that is qualified to do the work? I have a 28ga. that I hunt with and save all the hulls for reloading anyway.
