I just got them back from Dale and I figure I share. These are from my 16 ga lifter, mgf in 1880. He thought they were interesting as he haven't seen a set where the lines are so far apart.:corn:

Those bar ells do look different. Have you asked our expert? David

I'm hoping they'll chime in and add some light on the subject.

The barrels are different from the usual Parker 'Twist'

or Austin's 'Plain Twist'

http://pic20.picturetrail.com:80/VOL.../305870681.jpg

and similar to Dave Miles' lifter, also refinished by Dale who had a difficult time obtaining contrast.

The barrels may have been Parker produced. Any marks just forward of the flats?
See http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dfg2hmx7_1742r4n6vcz

Would it be possible to post a high resolution ultra close up of the barrels?

That's the same thing Dale said, he had a hard time obtaining contrast on these also. But they look darker than Mr Mile's.
The right bbl has a capital M just forward of the flats and the left bbl has a 55. I think. The top part of the first 5 is missing.
I will try to get better pictures.
