The Doctor's guns

Dale and I enjoyed another Saturday morning shooting Eurasions. We shot 2 Parker hammer guns we each acquired from our friend and Parker lover, the late Dr. Larry Spratting. I shot a #1 frame 0 grade Lifter, Dale shot a #2 frame grade 2. Both guns are close to 142 years old. Birds weren't flying too well, but we had a great time, and made every shot count. Dale could not miss, A+ shooting
on his part!

I bet the lifter is handy. How much does it weigh. I have a 12 gauge GH on a 1 frame that weighs about 7 pounds and is a dream to shoot and death itself with 7/8 oz of shot.

The Parker guns look almost as nice as those hats! :rotf:

you boys sure are lucky to have such good bird guns and plenty of birds to shoot at....charlie

Harry, my lifter weighs 7.8 lbs. according to the bathroom scale. My wife claims it's never accurate, lol. Has 30" Twist and choked IC/IC, very deadly on one of my good days. Dale's grade 2 is 8.5 lbs. maybe more? Has Damascus 32" choked CYL/CYL. Dale hit far and close, could not miss! We were shooting RST 1 ounce, 2 1/2". I usually load up a 3/4 ounce load of #8 12s that hit hard and is gentle on the shoulder.
Yes, we are very lucky to have an abundance of Eurasions year around. Here's a pic of an average morning shoot for Dale and myself. Birds must be nesting, cause the flights have been really slow these past couple weeks.
My hat is not for sale......

Here's an average morning for Dale and myself and it only gets better!

Chris; Tell us about the top gun in the picture. Looks a lot like one I have.

Chris Robenalt 03-16-2020 11:06 AM

That one is my DH 12, 30" Damascus. I think it's IM/IM? I can check after work. I'm thinking it's a 1911. Too many guns to remember, but I'll check later. Handles like 28" barrels would.

And the bottom looks like a 28" 12 with some nice high dimensions. I like it!

Thanks Chris; Does it letter with a recoil pad?
