Parker Trojan 16ga
Hello
My name is Greg i have been reading your guys post for awhile on this great site. I have a 1924 Parker trojan 16ga 28 inche barrels choked cylinder and mod. I am having problems with the gun and would like to be able to hunt with this great classic gun. I am a avid rabbit and quail with dogs and live in kentucky. My question is should i post my problem with the gun in one of the other forums? |
Post it right here Greg. You'll get the best advice from these gents.

My shotgun got dry fired and now when i try to open the gun it won't open unless i take the forearm off then i an remove the barrels. I have noticed also before this happened my tiggers were getting real stiff like maybe they need to be repaired or replaced. Should i send this to a quailfied gunsmith
|
Greg,Sounds to me like your Trojan is a victim of dried oil, grease and other assorted crap. I would bring the gun to a "Trained double gunsmith" and have the guns internals cleaned.
|
Any recommened gunsmiths the ones around here i do not trust
|
Greg,
I'm in Lexington and would be happy to clean the Parker for you. I am going to charge you a bottel of Elmer T Lee. Harry |
Mr Collins that would be great. I am in northern kentucky Let me know how to get the gun to you. I knew this site would be helpful.
Thanks to all I gotta go for now gettin ready for church don't want to make my wife mad |
Good job Harry! Only one bottle?.....
|
I'm in agreement with Dave on this. A Parker hammerless suffers no ill-effects from dry-firing because they have conical hammer/firing pins that seat, upon release, in conical ports.
|
Harry,
Can I have a pull off ur bottle.( I'd put a smily face here if I new how)...........ch |
