New kid on the block

Hello All, Stumbled on this cool site while researching some guns I own.
All my DB SG are hand me downs from family members. My Parker is a 12 ga with 30" barrels. I was about 10 years old the first time I shot the Parker at a squirrel and since I was used to shooting a 410; the recoil was so much the gun flew out of my arms and landed in the sand. Needless to say the squirrel lived.
I also have a Baker 20 ga and a sweet LC Smith 16ga.
Cheers

Welcome Lou. Hand-me-down guns are the best.
I feel my dad nearby whenever I take one of his out for a walk in the woods. He was a young man when he took me with him for the first time. It was only a walk across the hay lot and into the woods. That was 1952, or maybe '53.
Those woods are now high end homes, but I still remember it like it was yesterday. I'm 42 years older now than he was that day.
I may not remember to take my pills everyday, but I'll never forget times like those.

Welcome Lou, I think you will like it here. We all love Parkers, but also love all vintage shotguns. We would love to see pictures of yours. As you can see, lots of good natured fun here also. What part of the country are you from?

There's nothing wrong with my memory of the distant past. It's the recent stuff that I'm unable to forget.

I am from the NJ and looking to move south real soon if I can convince the admiral to leave. Here are a couple of really poor photos of my Parker. I know its early 1900's "VH" model and steel. Nice and tight as it was a closet queen for as long as I can remember. Attachment 93800
