New years day shoot

Yup, another year has all most come and gone, If you want a New Years Day shoot this year in Barrington NH, We will. Looking for a head count :corn:
Pete Lester will fill in the details of what we are doing , times and how to get there .
thanks, Scott

Dean Romig 11-29-2016 07:04 AM

As always, count me in. It's always a great time and a terrific show & tell of Parkers. We often see more nice Parkers at Major Waldron's than on Steve Barnett's tables at Ernie's.

Robin Lewis 11-29-2016 09:20 AM

I'm in!

I'm probably in again. I will have to figure out logistics since I wont be coming from Stowe that morning. Our reservation ends the day before.
And Charlie and the new guy will be with me.......

Frank Cronin 11-29-2016 02:28 PM

You are right Scott. It will be here before you know it.... I better get started on loading my 50 brass shells for black powder for the five frame hammer 10 gauge.....

A great tradition. Hope to see some new faces this year.

PS. George, you better go. You are my partner on "back up".....

For everyone else attending, given this news if you don't have any ringing in your ears prior to this shoot you will when you leave :)

That's called "ringing in the New Year" with Cronin.

Don't you mean "Stubbie"?

Larry Frey 12-13-2016 09:43 PM

Scott,
I'm 99% sure I can make it up again this year and will bring a pot of venison stew for the occasion. I'm also working on getting the Ol Pollock to ride shotgun with me if you'll allow two flatlanders in state at the same time.:)

Dean Romig 12-13-2016 10:01 PM

January 1st is getting funner and funner!

I hope the Connecticut Contingent will be very well represented!!... Looks like it will be.

George M. Purtill 12-14-2016 10:19 AM

Scott and Pete
Our rental in Vermont ends on New Year's Eve this time so I'm trying to avoid going all the way back to Connecticut. Are the lodgings in Kittery close by to Waldrons?
I'm sure my wife would like to shop Kittery on New Year's Eve.

Robin Lewis 12-14-2016 10:25 AM

George,
There are several nice hotels in Portsmouth, NH and its not far to drive over there from the shoot; about 20 miles. Kittery shopping is about 5 minutes north of Portsmouth.

Yes, What he said!

allen newell 12-14-2016 02:09 PM

I'm in weather permitting. Just wish my restocked vhe would be finished in time.

Dean Romig 12-14-2016 02:17 PM

So just bring your bolt action Mossberg.

.

allen newell 12-14-2016 02:50 PM

you must have forgotten Dean, I sold it to you last year. lol

Robin Lewis 12-14-2016 04:03 PM

Dean, is that the one you traded me for my VHE 20ga?

Dean Romig 12-14-2016 06:01 PM

Yup, and I'm still holding a couple of 'trade' Mossbergs for any gun you have that you want to trade for them

.

Daniel Carter 12-14-2016 08:05 PM

I will be bringing 2 dozen donuts in case anyone else was thinking about it. will that be enough? And my high grade Mossberg's

allen newell 12-14-2016 09:31 PM

I'll bring bagels and cream cheese and no Mossberg's. If I come up the day before, anyone recommend a hotel/motel to stay at?

If one is so inclined check Expedia.com, there are 4 hotels around Exit 9 Spaulding Turnpike in Dover which would be about 8 miles from Major Waldrons.

scott kittredge 12-21-2016 04:53 AM

3 boxes of ten ga loaded, 3 boxes of spreaders loaded and lots of trap loads ready to go! :) long range forecast is looking good, but here in NH you never know??
scott

George M. Purtill 12-21-2016 02:05 PM

ALASKA RAFFLE TICKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE AT WALDRON'S SHOOT

The good lord, weather and my wife willing I will be at the New Year's Day shoot at Major Waldron's in Southern Sunny New Hampshire.
I will bring some raffle tickets with me so bring your checkbooks.
The checks should be payable to Parker Gun Foundation.
There are only 200 to be sold.

Larry Frey 12-29-2016 06:59 AM

I checked the advanced weather and it looks like partly sunny and a balmy 41 degrees for New Years day in Barrington NH. You can't ask for a better day for January in the northeast. I set aside a few pounds of meat from yesterdays harvest and Deb will be starting the stew tomorrow. Look forward to shooting with everyone at Major Waldron's.

Dean Romig 12-29-2016 07:14 AM

Shooting begins at 9 for those traveling long distances... for all others it starts at 9 ;-)

Russell E. Cleary 12-29-2016 07:59 AM

10 Bore has asked for a head count. Please add me and non-shooting friend Kathy to the head count.

This Forum needs a dis-like button for posts like Dean's.

George, I need the reminder... I always try to be there a half-hour early and still manage to be late! :banghead:

See you there.

Dean Romig 12-29-2016 08:45 AM

Head count...? I'll be there.

allen newell 12-29-2016 11:11 AM

Afraid I'm going to have to miss this shoot. My 8 mos old English setter, Sophie, is in full blown heat. My outdoor kennel isn't heated and I would prefer not to leave her in the house alone (when there's no one around to let her out to do her biz) for that length of time.
