We look forward to you coming Dan. And if you join the PGCA before Fun Shoot, we will teach you special trick shooting techniques and our secret handshake!!!

Daryl Corona 01-23-2016 06:57 PM

Thanks Geo., I needed a good laugh. BTW- I'm a life member and you have never taught me the secret handshake.:nono:

Awesome! What do I need to do to join? I have a backyard full of chickens I'd be willing to sacrifice as an offering to the Parker gods, or I could bring large quantities of Micro Brew beer from the Mayflower Brewing Co.

Whatever it takes to become one of the brotherhood!

Daryl Corona 01-23-2016 07:01 PM

Dan;
Knowing these guys if you bring some of those chickens fried and some of that micro brew you're in!:)

.

Dan Hatton 01-23-2016 07:10 PM

It's a deal!

I just tried to join, but I got an error message. I sent a copy of the message to Mary Bowes. I hope we can get this issue resolved before April!

I can bring the chickens and beer, but I won't be able to share until I'm a full member with all rights and privileges!

But I did teach you trick shooting techniques at the Rock! If you come to Addieville I will teach you the handshake.

Daryl Corona 01-23-2016 09:33 PM

Oh yeah, now I remember. Was'nt that on the 28ga. course? Thanks. I'm a fast learner. (Could'nt have done it without you.)

Don't know if I can make Addieville so how about the PGCA meeting championship shoot in March?

If you drive a 67 Land Rover 88 we can make an exception. But the beer will help.

Dan Hatton 01-23-2016 09:42 PM

This is Mrs B. I'll have to put in a Parker gun rack for the trip to addieville!

Welcome aboard Dan. Mary has made you a PGCA member.

Dan Hatton 01-23-2016 10:01 PM

Cool! Thanks Mary. If you show up at Addiville, you get a free ride in the silly old car!

edgarspencer 01-24-2016 03:40 PM

Not sure I'll be shooting, but I may come just to chat Landies. I'm not sure if I've had more Parkers than Land Rovers, but I know I've had 35 of them, including the 3 1/2 I have now. Would someone run up to VT and bring me my chassis I bought 4 months ago?

I can go to VT and pick up your chassis for you... I even have a place here that I can store it for you for the winter.

When I deliver it next spring, would you be OK if the left side outriggers were a bit punky? I'm pretty sure that's the way they ship them these days!

Do you spend any time on the Guns and Rovers site? I haven't been on that site like I used to, but those are a great bunch of guys!

George M. Purtill 01-24-2016 06:47 PM

Dave

And a big thanks to Dave who sets this up and more important REMEMBERS to set this up while we are all suffering from winter doldrums.
Thanks Dave Suponski!!!!

Jay Oliver 01-24-2016 07:39 PM

I am looking forward to this, I just moved to back to Rhode Island(after 8 years in NC). I didn't have my Parker addiction until fairly recently and wasn't shooting much when I had lived in Rhode Island the first time. It will be nice to meet some of the PGCA members at the event.

Thanks for the offer. It's at Arthur P's house now. I wish I could have taken three 2A chassis', but the one I got was the last Richards chassis for the foreseeable future.
Replacing just the outriggers is a pretty straightforward job.
I've done 4 re-frames and I always think the next one will be easier, but they never are, and I'm a lot older since the last series restoration.
I did an NAS110 over, and kept it for 15 years. I thought when I sold that one I was over them, but, like Parkers, one never gets over them.
I see Steve Young occasionally, but I don't do the Landy boards much at all anymore. I moderated the Defender section of LRO from it's inception until it was sold to a Canadian firm. All I got for that 'pleasure' was an appreciation for what Mods go through.

john pulis 01-26-2016 03:59 PM

we sold our switch blades and zip guns, but the Long Guyland Boz are in.

That is so good. Not to worry- I have been picking up switchblades on eBay so we will have plenty. Maybe they were yours?

Dean Romig 01-26-2016 10:27 PM

Hey John - it'll be good to shoot with youse guys again!

.

Dave Suponski 01-27-2016 11:07 AM

George, we could do a 10 gauge event at the 5-stand after sporting! What ever you guys wanna do.

George M. Purtill 01-27-2016 11:41 AM

5 stand Ten gauge sounds like fun. I better start reloading!!

allan.mclane 01-27-2016 08:39 PM

allen newell 01-28-2016 10:49 AM

I'm in gents! Looking forward to it and hopefully I'll have my VHE that is being completely restocked by then. I think so.

John Dallas 01-28-2016 11:03 AM

I just drove that car 8800 miles to Oregon (and elsewhere) and back in 3 weeks, using 220 gallons of fuel (wintertime condx). Here's hoping it'll make it to Addieville!

I'll be doing my level best to keep it out of VW's hands once they release a 'fix.' As far as I'm concerned, it ain't broken (although Vermont may not allow it to be re-registered).

Dean Romig 01-28-2016 11:25 AM

Register it as a 'Farm Vehicle', you'll have no problem.

.

George M. Purtill 01-28-2016 11:28 AM

If Allan is a true Woodchuck, he is using farm diesel anyway.

Dean Romig 03-29-2016 02:45 PM

We'll be there. Shooting starts at 9 but Jack will be giving his safety talk beforehand and then we'll want to visit a bit in the parking lot, so we'll be there early.

.

George M. Purtill 03-29-2016 02:53 PM

Dem guyz from Longuyland don't need no safety talk cuz dey always keep their blades in their boots.
