In British Gunmakers Vol. Two, Nigel Brown lists Forrest & Sons at 35 Square, Kelso, Roxburgh c. 1890 through 1940, but still there by 1970-76 when Dickson's took over. And still at 35 Square by 1984-88.

Also... a G. Forrest & Sons at 7 Abbey Pl, Jedburgh, Roxburgh c. 1874-1901.

I love back-action hammer guns and have a Bland 28 gauge and a C&H 16 with that action. Those long barrels and open/tight chokes make that little gun even more appealing (if that's possible!).

There are good quail numbers in Kansas this year, and you should be well armed if they decide to attack.

Took the little Scottish 20 hammer gun out pheasant hunting today, what a gem. I think I will call it the Queen of Scots. Only found two birds today but the gun comes to your shoulder like magic. Here's a picture of my black and white setter Willy with the first bird we took and then her mother fancy and sister doodle with another bird that they teamed up on later in the day

Well, I've never had that problem before don't know why they're upside down
