Edwin Hedderly

I was rearranging some notebooks in my office and found a folder with ten photocopies of a 16-page, December 1910, Western Field article by Edwin Hedderly of an automobile trip 108 miles from Los Angles to Bailey's ranch on Crane Lake for a canvasback hunt. Hedderly went with another in his Duro automobile. The Duro was manufactured in Los Angeles.
Attachment 104841 The other two members of the party came in a second car. If one can get by the flowery writing of the time it is interesting insight on how things were 112 years ago. At any rate before I recycle the paper if anyone would like a copy, PM me a snail-mail address and I'll send a copy. Hedderly with his take -- Attachment 104840 This article was from the year before he got his 32-inch barrel DHE 20- and 28-gauges. |
Thanks to you, I have most of this already, but send me anything related that you can = AWESOME photo of the car!! Which I DON"T Have!!

I did an internet search for Duro automobiles and that one from the Murphy Auto Museum in Oxnard seems to be the only one to come up. The company was only in business from 1907 to 1911.
