SC Trap
I bought a SC trap a few weeks ago
I do have to say this buying Parkers is a drug And with little hope of a cure Anyways I bought this SC trap Serial number 180500 The serial number book says straight stock I sent for a letter says straight stock But what I have sitting next to me isn't a straight stock at all Interesting that both would be incorrect I have shot it a few times and love it Shot 22s and 23s with it right away Also the choke seems to me IM I assume it was opened slightly I am very happy and will stop shooting it and put it away Just thought this was interesting….. |
Don't stop shooting it. You will not hurt it. I have put 25,000 rounds in mine and it still purrs along. They are great guns. Congrats on getting your. Frank

Seems to lock up tight when closed Shoots nice…... |
My first Parker trap gun was purchased in 1973. I have been shooting it for forty years. I don't think we can wear these things out. By the way, who was the first purchaser of your gun? He may be a famous shooter.

Bill
It was ordered by Honeyman Hardware Co of Portland OR on March 9 and shipped on June 6th 1918 I wish I knew the history or how it got to be listed as straight grip and it is the pistol grip Another interesting fact in the letter is the LOP was 15" And the cost was 150.00 (a lot of money in 1918) |

I have a Browning Superposed that was heavily used. I just wanted one. I overpaid. The gun is okay, well worn, and it shoots just great! Open the lever and it drops open. It is a tad loose when it is open, but when locked up, it is tight as a drum. |
Keep shooting! You'll put more wear on it taking it in and out of the safe than on the trap line.

I just broke out my Parker SC. I misreported the S#. It is 177853.

Just a follow up on the Shelly Gitman gun I bought from John Davis. I love the gun. It fits me perfectly and I shoot it a few times each week. John offered it for a more than fair price. I am grateful to him. The gun gets passed to my friend Mark when I can no longer shoot, hopefully a long time from now.

Tom, I believe I may have posted earlier that I own Shelly's SAA single trap. Nice gun. I know you are enjoying yours.
