that is my 8 bore Enos James hammergun. 34 inch barrels and weighs 13.5 lbs.
Not sure why its got two barrels its hard to see for a follow up shot what with the smoke from a black powder round firing nearly 2 oz of shot.

I'd be interested to see a post about the James gun with some pictures, it sounds awesome!
I like all of your guns, I didn't buy a mint 1901 at an East Wenatchee WA gun show in 1990 because I couldn't get shells for it or so I thought back then.

Great flock of ducks there.

I'd have to hire a man servant to haul that 8 gauge out to the duck blind for me. That would be a blast to shoot with 2 1/4oz of bismuth and 6 drams of powder.

8 GA in blind

I wish that there was a regulation allowing antiques for duck hunting. If there is a limit of 4 ducks what dose it matter if you take them with a 4 GA or a.410?

I'm guessing there could be two reasons:

Big bores could encourage sky busting

Before the introduction of Steel shot, the larger payload of a big gun would increase the lead deposition in the marsh

Cleaning up?
