Success on a couple birds before the season closed.

Life was pretty busy this fall, so after several successful trips early in the season, I had a hiatus from the grouse woods for a spell. Thankfully, I was able to squeeze in a few hours one morning mid December before the season closed Christmas Eve. Since it was such a lovely morning, I dragged out my G grade 16 to get the smell of safe off her with the hopes it would bring me some luck. Sure enough, after pushing one of my small late season coverts, and moving several birds, I ended the morning after connecting with two nice drummers. Till next season!

Seems like a perfect ending to the season. A brace of grouse is a prize by any count, and to take them with a special gun, in a special place (aren't all grouse coverts special??) is part of the perfection. Thanks for sharing your hunt with us.
