Repro 12 gauge DHE 2 barrel set
I have not seen many 12 gauge repro guns trade hands and was wondering if I could get a value check on a 12 gauge 2 barrel, 26 IC/Mod, 28" Mod/Full, pistol grip, splinter, sst, new in case with cover. I see them listed for $5400 to $5900. My guess is more like $5k? If you have a very candid response on a recent trade and don't wish to share it on the forum please shoot it via PM.
Thanks all |
Brian,
I think the "want" price might certainly be 5K to 6K on these guns but the actual "get" price is in the 4K to 5K range. I purchased mine for 4K a few years ago and felt that I paid a very fair price. It is the exact gun you described. Having said that, I believe 12ga repro's are just like 12ga originals..... Hard to sell for the maximum "want" price. Patrick |
Every 12ga PR that I have handled, which has not been all that many, has been a particularly well made gun even amongst the Repros..wonder if there's any merit to that observation on a large scale?
|
If the figure in the wood is very good, I'd say $5,500 is a good price. There aren't that many 12ga. Two Barrel sets around, and for an unfired one, you'll pay a premium.

Someday in the not too distant future like maybe tomorrow, we'll be saying I can't believe I didn't buy 12 gauge two barrel Repros with factory cases at $5000.

I love my 12 gauge reproduction, it's unbelievably light, coming from a 12 gauge ruger red label that's probably around 8lbs. It's the only gun I've hunted with so far this season. I've been shooting nothing but RST spreader shells, since that's what I shoot out of my Damascus GH its easier to just have one shell on hand. I'm going to try and get another one before next season, preferably a pistol grip one choked imp cyl/mod.

Although I would be touting some configuration steeped in 16 & 20 ga barrels due to my affinity for such.
I think the case could easily be made that a 12ga two barrel set choked Q1/Q2 & IC/MOD along with 3" chambers would arguably be the most versatile field gun that is offered save the SCC. |

George, I wanted to join some time back ...
If my memory still supports me, one needed to submit a 'hunting story' to supports one's application. Unfortunately, I'm ONLY a collector / shooter of clays. Cheers, TONY. |
Tony
We are open to all lovers of Parkers including Repros. We would welcome you right away. Dean and I could fabricate a whopper of a good hunting story for you anyway. |
That's right George - I've 'fabricated' several for you....
But No Tony, there is no such requirement. You can even join online right here.... http://parkerguns.org/ Simply go to Membership (second tab down on the left column) from the Home page. . . |
I tried; it's a minefield.
( have failed yet again, with this link / computer stuff ) |
Okay, then just send a check for $40 (annual membership) or $500 (life membership) to
Mary Bowes, 477 Ocean Ave, Wells, ME 04090. That's about as simple as it gets. . |
Dean maybe he just wants to find ways not to join... Just a thought
|
Na... I can't believe that...

I'm not. |
That is an incorrect statement Mr. Guccione.
Annual PGCA Membership including postage, is $40 US regardless of the country you live in. . |

Back to the Question...Back a few months I traded off a two barrel set about 98%++ DT-PG-SF 26" ic/mod and 28" M/F both 2 3/4 chambers, case, cover ect. The gun was used to buy a more expensive SXS. The dealer allowed me 6500.00 and resold it for more! FAST! Double trigger 12 gauge with 28" barrels are scarce! They bring the money. The DT steel shot spl. that is on GI right now is a deal....SXS Ohio

I agree with you Kenny and I believe a friend of mine from Canada bought that gun

Well I am bringing this back since a was able to acquire a repro 12 ga 26" q1/q2, 28" IC/Mod, SST, beaver, pistol grip. I thought the chokes were interesting and the wood exceptional. It has carry wear on the bottom of the receiver but an all around great gun.

Beautiful wood Brian, and a great all-purpose gun!

I do have my eye on one. Just trying to get the funds. |
If you are trying to sell this gun it needs to be on a different thread and forum.

I'm still looking and Brian just bought one |
I have a 12 ga with 28" bbls choked IC/Mod that I combined with a BHE set OF bbs choked Q1/Q2 that I think is perfect for anything I want to do. If I add the cost of the gun(3900) plus what I think the bbls would sell for(2000), I get 5900. My A1 Special and my SSC are still unfired and I am not sure they would sell for what I paid. I like them and plan to keep them. I just do not think many younger folk are enamored with SxS guns. Was going to give my grandson an SKS 385 2 bbl set 20/28 ga., but he is not interested. Ticked me off.

That’s a fantastic combination of chokes for the uplands Donovan.
Here’s a pretty nice 12ga choked Q1/Q2 if the configuration suits somebody here. I like the wood on this one, nice match between fore and butt. http://www.cabelas.com/product/parke...r+reproduction |

Well I hope I didn’t play spoiler if you’re working on a deal.
Gun fund is as barren as the saharie desert over here but if it wasn’t, I’d have no qualms over owning that gun whatsoever. Sure are some nice 12’s coming to market as of late and it sure seems that the 12’s are inherently discounted. Some nice deals to be had lately. |
I've got several irons in the fire. That guns not one of them. A couple of repros and some English boxlocks. Its hard to pull the trigger ,but it sure is fun shopping

I feel your pain.... My granddaughters are the same way. I have offered to take them with me for grouse hunting or skeet but they're just not interested. It doesn't tick me off, but it hurts a little. But I still love them and I gently keep trying. . |
I looked at that gun last week and was tempted. If it had two triggers I am afraid I would be a bit lighter in the wallet.

My daughter's idea of a shotgun is a benelli vinci camo. I'm hoping to get her out pheasant hunting but she shows no interest in the uplands. I don't think she'd be able to look at a sxs and see its beauty. Maybe in time. I hunted a lot with autos and pumps before i discovered that the classic upland shotgun was the only way |
