GETTING READY FOR THE BIG GAME

It's no secret who my boys are rooting for in the Super Bowl........:corn:

Jerry Harlow 01-29-2019 06:40 PM

I do admire Tom Brady's ability, but I can't bring myself to watch professionals paid multi-millions kneel during the National Anthem.

When the MLB players do the same, I'll quit watching them also.

I checked and it seems both teams have "kneelers." If your dogs were in the "Puppy Bowl," I would watch that.

Stephen Hodges 01-30-2019 05:54 PM

Just trying to have a little fun here:) Not looking for controversy!!!!

allen newell 01-30-2019 06:20 PM

Sophie, my english setter, will probably sleep through the whole thing. Lol

I know. I will go with the East Coast team over a team that can't decide where to land and stay. (Cleveland, L.A., St.L,L.A. again)

Rich Anderson 01-31-2019 11:28 AM

The only part of the whole thing thats of any interest to me are the commercials:rotf:

Aw come on Steve. Controversy is good.
I however am at the point where I don't want my National Anthem played at professional sporting events. The players for the most part don't deserve it. and it would remove a platform/stage for those who want to make a statement.
However, I will be rooting for Tom. I love Patriots haters. Makes me love them more.

Mills Morrison 01-31-2019 03:49 PM

For me, it is an excuse to go to the Gun Club for the annual super bowl party / oyster roast.

Edgar, that’s not the wisest thing I’ve ever heard from you but it’s right up there with all the others. You are after all, a very wise man and I admire your wisdom.

Milo put on his jersey and has been camped out in front of the television ever since he heard the Patriots were going to the Super Bowl again.

Just curious: will it cost the Patriots more to buy off the refs against the Rams than it did against the Chiefs, or do they have the refs on retainer?

Chill, Pats fans, just kidding :). Sort of...

Phil, I think it's a toss up, remember the Rams had the refs in their back pocket too  against the Saints !

John Dallas 02-01-2019 09:25 PM

After this, there is a cry for more cameras and more time outs. NO! It has ruined the flow of the game.

Mills Morrison 02-02-2019 10:19 AM

There is no more high tension, high stakes sporting event than little league

allen newell 02-02-2019 11:47 AM

Pats win 35 to 24. You saw it first here.

And even those are horrible as of the last several years. Most are not even funny. And they are all over the internet and social media a week before the game anyway. It defeats the point.

allen newell 02-03-2019 01:01 PM

Wouldn't it be nice if we just had a game.

My granddaughter Brady Rose can’t wait. She doesn’t get too wrapped up in all of the politics.

Mills Morrison 02-03-2019 01:18 PM

GO PATS! We took a survey in our house and it is unanimous

Why not eliminate it after all we have thrown out the Pledge of Allegiance all to appease a minority of malcontents who don't either understand or appreciate what it stands for and the sacrifices made by hundreds of thousands of veterans many of which gave their lives so these few can display their ignorance in a public forum.:banghead::cuss:

allen newell 02-03-2019 04:55 PM

If the NFL leadership had any guts they would establish a policy rule that players stand for the national anthem or remain in the locker room until the anthem is over.

Jerry Harlow 02-03-2019 08:31 PM

Mills,

Looks cold there. We now have your warm weather.

Frank Cronin 02-03-2019 11:46 PM

WTF are you talking about? I didn't say a word. You were so obviously blinded by the profundity of George's comment, you forgot who made it.

Dean Romig 02-04-2019 07:32 AM

Oops...

You got me on that one Edgar... but take it easy - remember your blood pressure.

Your admiring pal, Dean :corn:

Regarding the game last night....

It was prophesied in Daniel 8:7

Phillip Carr 02-04-2019 08:22 AM

And there you go. LOL

Rich Anderson 02-04-2019 12:47 PM

Lets recap, I fell asleep before half time woke up to whatever that show was supposed to be. I didn't understand what anyone was trying to sing and what's the deal with the lead singer was he trying to do a strip tease or just real proud of all his tattoos? I thought the commercials sucked just about as bad as the half time show.

Daryl Corona 02-04-2019 01:25 PM

Watched the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet and it just made me smile. :)
Team Ruff 59, Team Fluff 51. It was a real nail biter.:corn:
Seriously, who does'nt like to watch puppies play?

Mills Morrison 02-04-2019 02:00 PM

I actually wound up watching Dr. Szivago on TCM. One of those movies that never gets old.

Brian Dudley 02-04-2019 07:15 PM

My only takeaway was that Bud Light tastes like crap because they do not use Corn Syrup. Or maybe it is some other contributing factor.

never watch sports, but I did get a kick out of a news story today - they said the guy's tattoos reminded them of the Chipolte's take out bag :rotf:

allen newell 02-05-2019 07:24 AM

Imho the half time show was remarkably unimpressive.

Dean Romig 02-05-2019 07:35 AM

Or in gunning parlance - a huge “flash in the pan”!!

Good Morning!! Antonio Brown is a New England Patriot and are dropping another super bowl banner tonight. Have a good day ! Bahhhawwwahhaaaaaa hhhaaaaaa!!! :rotf:

Jay Gardner 09-08-2019 11:11 AM

Let’s see how long it takes AB to become a distraction for the Patriot organization. But if he does play with Brady throwing and AB catching it’s gonna be a continuous source for Sports Center highlights.

George M. Purtill 09-08-2019 11:16 AM

Belichek doesn't tolerate distractions. Remember Moss? They must feel they can control the issue.

Exactly. Belichek doesn’t have patience for prima donnas and AB is definitely a prima donna. The organization isn’t going to have the “patience” that Oakland did.
