Correct pad

This is a pic of my SBT with a replacement pad. I would like to replace it with a correct pad. Can you tell me what was used and if one might be available? Thank you

Depends on the DOM Mike, but this will help
http://www.picturetrail.com/sfx/album/view/22972603 Galazan carries several repros including Hawkins, Jostam Hy-Gun, and NoShoc |
Mine originally had a Hawkins that I replaced with a new one from galazan

Mike This one has a dogs head buttplate

Trapshooters change gun accoutrements like their socks  so any 20s-30s pad would look fine, but a Silvers repro would probably look best Mike.

The Silvers repro from Griffin and Howe is proper for a 1917 gun. My 1917 SC, #177,741 has an original factory installed Silvers. Some Silvers repros from other sources are known to have some problems.
|
Gary, do you have a PGCA letter on that gun? I'd sure like to see it.
|
Kynoch over in London are offering original Silvers pads. Wouldn't those work?
|
Bill, I do have a letter will dig it out I have taken the trigger guard off and the ser# and grade are stamped on the wood, and this is not a trap gun it is a GHE with 32" barrels

Mike F., yes, the original Silvers pad is quite acceptable. However, I happened to have ordered a baggo Griffin and Howe pads at the volume price years ago and have been so satisfied I have not bothered to deal with the Brits. I did have a wonderful original Silvers pad that I installed on a nice SC and foolishly sold. I mistakenly thought I had too many Parker single barrels. Silly me. I just bought another one last month.
