Hello, New member, former lurker.

Hello,

Recently joined as I started a new job fresh out of school and for the first time in about 8 years have a job. Acquired a VHE 16 ga 2.5" last year and much enjoying being a future Parker collector. I look forward to gaining some of the knowledge from everyone here.

Cheers,

Andrew

Thank you for the warm welcome! I don't know much about it and it looks like I already made one mistake. My Parker is a VH, not a VHE. It is on a number 1 frame and appears to have been used quite extensively. Attached are some pictures of the gun.

Hi Harold,

I appreciate it! I'm out of the midwest. I float back and forth between the east side of Indianapolis and Battle Creek, Michigan.

Welcome aboard Andrew. If you are in the Hoosier state on 08/26 there will be a SxS shoot just down the road from you in Batesville, IN. Would give you a chance to meet several members as I think we have about a dozen or so signed up as of today. You would also get the chance to look over several Parkers as there will be a display. The info on this shoot has been posted on the forum, hopefully the link below will take you to the thread.

Andrew, according to the Serialization book, 197288 is a VH 16 gauge with a capped pistol grip and 28 inch barrels. It was made in 1922 and there are records available on your gun. PGCA members get a substantial break on the cost of a research letter (created from looking at the original records for your gun). Membership is well worth the investment, especially now that you have one Parker and will very likely be getting another (hey, it happens!:))

Andrew, my first Parker was a VH16 1frame with 28 in barrels also. Took alot of birds with it and still have it.

Hi Randy,

Thanks, I appreciate the welcome and invite to the shoot! I just may be able to make it. Should figure out this next week or so if I have to run down to Charlotte, NC that weekend or just during the week. I have heard great things about so many sxs shoots and would love to make it if I can! I'll be in touch if I can.

Thanks,

Andrew

STILL LURKING ABOUT!!

Andrew, if you attend one of the side by side shoots, your gun will be a star of the show. No other 16 gauge will have the character that your gun has. That is a compliment not a criticism. Welcome. Bill Murphy in MD.

Andrew, welcome to the club! If you can make Randy’s Shoot in Batesville you will not be disappointed. Everybody is really nice and willing to help. It sincerely is just about having a great time and shooting these classic guns. Let me know if you’re going, we will connect.

Rick

Rick

Unfortunately I had to run down to North Carolina this past weekend. Bummed I couldn't make it, but am hopeful to get around to it next year. Good to see another Griff guy on here!

Best, Andrew

Hello - i am a new member and new to the S X S world. I have a Parker Trogan and a Fox Sterlingworth - looking forward to learning more about Parkers and hoping to find a 20 or 16 Gauge VHE on an O frame .
