Dean:
So, there is no fixing the date that catalogue was issued; it can only be estimated. But, would you agree that it is #17 on the list in TPS? |
I agree Russell that it is the 1889 (No. 17) catalog. There may be clues we’re missing, such as when the first 20 gauge hammerless gun was produced, or a clue in any of the many prices of guns and accoutrements listed, but it sure appears, by the cover, that it is the 1889 catalog.

My friend, and the catalogue owner, have offered to send along photos of more pages.

I would be able to wrap-up this courtesy to a couple of non-Members if I had an estimated value range to pass on to them.
The owner of the catalogue is a fellow outdoorsman whose interests have shifted more to fishing tackle collecting and fly-tying. The easiest way for him to sell the item, I would guess, would be his listing it on here as a Member in our for-sale section (which I have suggested). |

Here are (2) photos of the price list section in the catalogue, which are bound pages, not an insert that I had inferred.
And a photo of a Classic Salmon fly the catalogue owner tied. |
Looks like a Green Highlander.
Your friend is a true artist. . |
Russell, Whoever tied that that fly was very accomplished. I don't know how old it is but the gut eye and balance of the materials is beautiful ! It deserves framing. Best, Paul D Narlesky
