Here is a pic of a buffel head i just mounted that was shot last Dec, the mount is still drying and base needs a little more work, i want to mount a hen with it too, thats coming soon. i will show a finished mount, scott

I think I'll load up a bunch of pa'tridge loads with those hat pins... pretty effective on Buffies so they'll probably work on the upland birds.

I wonder if a skilled taxidermist, "hit," the partridge with the pins just right; would it then mount itself. I guess not. Just an early morning thought. I am always amazed when a skilled taxidermist does an animal or fish. The artistry is just amazing. The bird in the photo is very well done.

The boys over in Canada call them "lake teal", I think there are more local names for Buffleheads than any other duck. Hah!

I know them as "Butterballs". Sure fun shooting in a layout rig
