Let’s face it; very few of us attend side by side shoots to “win” the prize. Oh, it would be nice to place first but most of us go to the Yooper, Hidden Hollow, the Southern, Vintagers, and local events for the camaraderie of like minded persons.

What better place to get to know your fellow SxS enthusiast than over dinner!

Desert and breakfast pastries were made in the town of Channing’s SECRET pie factory. Rumor has it that it is a CIA operation because they bake and sell wonderful pies and ice cream in the very back of the little town’s bait shop. Hey, I don’t make this stuff up!

Finally, there were a few prize winners to include Dennis in the center, a fellow Marine, who won the overall match! Dennis shot a 67 of 76 in the flurry! Oh, the young lady holding a 30” 16 gauge Fox Sterlingworth won it as the top of the 2nd Division Lewis Class. Larry Brown and I shot the same overall score as she but missed the prize gun by… http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p307/Chesador/Yooper_12_Camraderie/UP_2012_C-116.jpg

Perhaps you get the message but do you comprehend the message??

It is a fun shoot and I think we all had a good time. I had a friend come that is new to SXS's and now he wants to find a gun so he won't have to borrow one...or two.

It was a hellaciously long drive (17hrs) but it was worth it in just the time spent with some old and new friends. The picture of Rich with the 1/2 chicken hanging out of his mouth kind of sums up the fun we had. I suppose the half dozen or so bloody mary's he had did'nt hurt the festivities either. It was a pleasure staying at Rich's new "cabin" in the UP, finally meeting "Blind Dog" Fred Preston and Rich's good buddy Dick. Fred, that BHE you have is to die for. Mark, thanks once again for the pics. Your dedication to the photographic art form is wonderful. I am proud of the pics I got of you on the flurry breaking that bird into pieces. And last but not least is Eric who shot his Limey gun as good as one can shoot. He actually shot it better than his beautiful Parkers. He made some second barrel kills on the pigeon ring that had to be 45-50 yds. They were out but impressive none the less. See you next time guys.:)

Okay... the guy in the middle with the western hat and plaid shorts is Bruce Day, right? I know he drove up there a year or two ago... and he showed up again! Good on you Bruce, that's a good ride!

Attention on Deck!

to include Dennis in the center, a fellow Marine,

What about the name DENNIS and FELLOW MARINE could any reasonable person even infer toward our otherwise noble member and Air Force Colonel, Bruce Day?

Mark

Sorry Mark but you'll have to admit the resemblance is uncanny.

I wasn't sure you were referring to that particular person... I apologize for being UNreasonable.

Dean perhaps you should consider making the trip then you'll know exactly whos there and who's not therefor eliminating the self embarrassment of wrongfull identification. I hate to see you embarrass yourself in such a public forum:rotf:

Rich, it would take a lot more than this to publicly embarass me... but I think a half of a chicken hanging out of my mouth might be over my limit

No Chicken no glory. I was full of prime rib at the time and many oh so many Bloddy Mary's. It was good chicken however.

Good times are had in dah U.P. eh:)
