The Northeast SxS Shoot at Hausmann’s Hidden Hollow during June 1 – 3 is by far my favorite shoot! This is because:

1. There I met many of the PGCA regulars.

2. I also met many Fox, Lefever, and LC Smith aficionados!

3. The course is much like grouse hunting in my native Pennsylvania!

4. One pays as they go. There is no inordinate entry fee or any parking fees.

5. Lots of vendors who desire to move their inventory!

6. I come home every year with a new gun, new friendships, and great memories!

I hope to see you there!

Bo Whooping! AH Fox Bo Whoop Long Range Championship! One can use any SxS to compete for the purse but only the high AH Fox (or Sterlingworth) shooter may win the title!

Kike Koranda of Minnesota. Admit it, how long has it been since you smiled like that? All it takes is a couple days with your new friends!

Okay you undecided folks. Take a couple days off and have a well-earned mini-vacation with a hundred new friends that you will definately not meet unless you join us!

I am generally not much of a clays shooter, but darn if you guys aren't starting to make a day trip sound worth it ( a bit over 2 1/2 hours each way).

Rick,
My trip is four hours one way and I would still do it if it were twice as far.
Great guys, great guns, good food, good cigars and refreshing libations. What's not to like. Like Dave said you won't be disappointed. He promised you so you can take that to the bank.
ps- bring lots of ammo!

Looks like a great shoot, I'll have to try to get my dad to come out there with me. And I have a couple new toys to shoot anyways.

I'm looking forward to it.....but my little buddy Gunner isn't doing well and if push comes to shove and it's time to Man up and do the right thing then I'll be here with him.

Well, I made a day trip out of it today and found it time well spent.

It was great to put some faces with names, and thanks to all the Parker folks for the warm welcome. There was a decent selection of vendors and displays and the clays course I shot was a good example of Hunter's clays - well presented with some tricky, but mostly practical presentations resembling field shots

I am afraid I did not get pictures to share, hopefully those there for the weekend will post some when they get home.

Just got back from 3 wonderful days at the "Hollow". Those of you who could not attend really missed a great time. Ernie knows how to run a shoot for shooters. The course is top notch and the targets were fun but challenging. This shoot is quickly replacing the Southern as my favorite shoot. I want to say it was great meeting new friends, putting faces with names and spending time with some quality old friends who made the shoot great. Too many people to mention but to everyone, Thank You. We should have some great pixs coming up
PS. Larry, Rich got your Double trap wet. I don't even take that gun out in the rain so don't worry I cleaned her up real good and will store her for you.

what were the Bo Whoop long range targets like?

Dean Romig

Looooooong and rangy.

JD Shank broke 5 and I think that was the top score.

Dean had a good description of the Bo-Whoop targets. I am responsible for the B-W shoot for the Fox Collectors. While setting the targets on Thursday, we put a laser rangefinder on a tall pine tree behind the farthest target (the high one) and its top boughs measured 58 yards. The wind may have blown the bird back at times on Friday, but Saturday's birds dropped in front of the tree.

The high target was tricky with lots of curl, difficult to gauge. Some shooters took the high target first, coming off the trap, and that worked well for them. One gent with a 16 gauge Parker using RST 7/8 ounce loads of 8's, broke two birds. However many of the shooters reverted to heavier loads and Alex/RST told me they sold a lot of their specialty pigeon loads.

JD Shank was high gun with 5 ex 10 targets, using a W&C Scott 12 gauge pigeon gun. The Bo-Whoop trophy was taken by Tom Wyraz with 4 ex 10 using a XE/HE Super Fox. A more detailed rundown may be found at the link that follows.
