I found and bought the Repro I've been looking for. Found a 28GA, straight grip, double trigger, beavertail forend, with Q1 & Q2 chokes. It is only 26" barrels but I really like 26" barrels for grouse and woodcock. Have been looking for a long time and finally found one. Will send pictures when it arrives. I've seen a couple other ones over the years but they were always too high priced. This one had a fair price and was in nice condition.

Good for you Gerry! I hunt with a fellow that has that exact gun. I have one too with a splinter forend. Hang on to it and chase Perdiz with it on your trip to Argentina or Uruguay!! Happy Holidays. Bill

Congrats on your find. I favor 26 inch tubes on close cover birds like Grouse. My dream gun still aludes me.

Never have seen a 28gauge repro with factory 28" barrels chokes Q1/Q2 I have only recorded 28" M/F in 28gauge. We only own one gun with 26' Q1/Q2 barrels, it also has 28" M/F barrels, Pg-DT BTF and it belongs to my wife...)-: ...kinda scarce. I love the beaver tails on the 28gauge guns...they are the perfect size and lenth. SXS ohio

Gerry, that is one great configuration for a Repro. I was forced to pay the big buck for my two barrel set in that configuration because they made me take the 28" barrels as part of the deal during the closeout. Oh, well.

Gerry,
Think I saw the ad for that gun and came very close to purchase myself. The 14 5/8" LOP and DT is my weakness. Great gun-enjoy!!!!

I know where a two barrel set is in this configuration but the guy wants a lot of money for it. I wouldn't really use the M&F barrels so this is just perfect. Now I will sell my single trigger splinter 28.

I "settled" for a single trigger straight stocked splinter 26".
I too, want a 28" straight stocked double trigger beavertail 28 gauge.

It's fun chasing birds, pretty ladies, and wonderful guns.
The pretty lady is taken care of, but the birds and guns are never satisfied.

What do you all consider a fair price for unfired, cased 28 ga. with 26" bbls DT, BTFE and straight stock. 14 1/.4 LOP.

Unfired, I would say in todays market, $5000 tops if it has very nice wood.

Gerry- If you bought the one from the Kansas Cabelas that looks like a great gun in beautiful condition. Congrats.

It was the one from Kansas Cabelas and it looks like a nice gun in the pictures. Wood is not unbelievable but nice. Now I'll sell my 28GA straight grip, single trigger, splinter.

Looks like a nice gun for the price....double triggers are always nice. I have a hold on a 20ga out of Lacy Wa, but I think I am going to let it go if any one is interested, check out Guns International...nice wood, two barrels, double triggers,,,,one of my hesitations is thinking Cabelas has it priced a bit high for a used gun,,,as always. Mean while, I have my eye on a dark and sleek beauty from another part of the country.......................

Charles- I was eying that gun. I think it is very nice. This is also a great deal on a 2 barrel 28 ga set on GI:

My gun came in today and I have to say it is better than I expected. Has been fired very, very little. Wood looks better in person also. Can't wait to shoot it. I'll put some pictures up right after Christmas.

If it has dark wood with great figure I might pay between $5k - $6k...

...what an I talking about... I already have paid that for two that I cherish.

5-6K is too high unless it is a 2 barrel set.

That depends on whether one needs the gun or wants the gun.

In my case I 'wanted' both.

Very true and if you want it to keep for yourself and have been looking for a while the price is fine.

That gunsinternational two barrel 28 for $5299 is a great buy. Look at the black streaks in the butt. That gun will be gone.
