Look who was looking for a "date" with a nice fat doe in the apple orchard.

I’ve seen a lot of does this year, a few young bucks but this guy was a real nice one.

If you go in the woods hunting, be safe. Wear blaze orange. Clearly ID your target and know what is beyond the target. Unfortunately someone got shot and killed in NH by someone not following these simple but very important rules.

Looks to me that he is running all the way to Nebraska. I guess we will look for him in the morning. Thanks for the tip. Dave

WOW! Look at the neck and chest on that stud!!

I'm out the door right now on my way to deer camp in VT.

I'll be in the woods while the stars are still twinkling in the morning... opening day at last.

Too warm in VT for the traditional still hunting I like to do.

Saturday evening at about 5 minutes before legal quitting time a huge doe and her year and a half old daughter walked by me at about twenty yards. Fun to watch... Vermont has an antlered deer only law except for bow and primitive weapons seasons.

Roy, the dairy farmer down the road from camp took a nice young buck this afternoon.

I'll head back up there again on Friday night.

I'll be on them soon enough.

This was my 197 lb. buck from '03 in VT.
As big as he was he was as good as a 1 1/2 year old spike.

Nice buck Frank! You could hitch that bad boy to a 2-bottom plow! I don't think I'd shoot a deer like that; with his neck like that he'd taste like liver from end to end unless you aged him for 2 months. Besides, he's the reason there's other little deer running around and he looks healthy enough to not be in much danger of having some punk beat him up and run off with his lady friends...
