Very nice! Single specimens of any paper shotshells are difficult to find in decent (pristine) condition, and usually command a premium, especially at auction. Full, or even partial, boxes in such nice condition are even harder to find. They will look nice on display or in your collection. Cheers!

Finding full boxes is tough, but they are out there. There was a nice one on Ebay last week, but it got pulled for listing is as full.
I love Peters stuff. I try and get pairs of every one I can find. The lithography on them, especially English ones, Is very nice.

I have been slowly acquiring reprinted catalogs for WRA Co., UMC and Remington, plus Eley-Kynoch-Nobel. Peters and Western have been elusive. I will keep looking though. Dave, the Peters book you mention, does it have timelines and such? Are there good photos? I don't want a history of the company that does not illustrate changes and new items. Cheers!

Does anyone have a photo of a shellbox, I think it is a Peter's box of a Duck that is landing on the water quacking. I remember seeing it someway and I was sure it was a Peters box.

There was a later Peters sample box on ebay last week that brought $299, but it was marked 'DuPont'. This set and a Winchester set were given to my dad when he was in High school, and writing a paper on something to do with shotshells. As a kid, I wrecked the Winchester box, for which I will forever be remorseful about.

UMC, Winchester and Peters have all used ducks in their label lithography.
Here's the hottest of the Peters boxes.

Say in your best 'Crocodile Dundee' voice "That's not a rifled slug, THIS is a rifled slug". 20ga. Westley Richards Fauneta, in Eley Pagamoid case. The Westley Fauneta was rifled in the muzzle end about 6"

I've looked for years for a British shell marked "Wildfowlers Distress Round" or something like that. They were a flare round meant to be carried in your cartridge belt to fire off in case of trouble, I've heard they came in 12 and 10 gauge.

My big ammo find recently was a box of Federal Monark Pigeon Loads. I collect any shotgun ammo that's specifically marked Pigeon and these were a box style I didn't have. I'll try to post a pic one of these days.

Destry, I've never seen a British flare cartridge in shotgun bores, but have seen the 1 1/2" variety.
This is a WW2 era Very cartridge, 10ga. I found this one in an old hunting vest, so I guess some waterfowlers thought to carry them 'just in case'.

Edgar,

I've got a couple of oddball flare rounds in shotgun bore but that one marked Wildfowler would just be the greatest thing ever. I know it exists because I've seen a picture of it. Do you have any idea what the VFM means on that round you picture?
