was at walmart today looking at sporting things and decided to get me a box of 3 inch 410 s... i definatly will save the hulls and reload them..that box of 410 s was 14.50 and a box of 2 1/2 inch were 9.50 ... a ton of people shoot the 410 i just dont see why they are so costly....much less componets than 12 ga...but what do i know... gonna shoot these in my poor man s parker 410 a stevens 311 double... charlie

Charlie, I was told one time that the shell manufacturers only tooled up and ran .410 and 28 ga. once a year. They run enough to last all year. 12 and 20 they run all year long. It may not be the straight scoop, but thats what I was told. Mike

Mike has it right. I asked some guys I knew at Remington years ago about the difference and their answer was 2 fold. 1) was that they occasionally run those gauges where as the 12's and 20's ran constantly and 2) was that the smaller bores had to have the machines run a little slower to get the components in and the shells made right.
