Howdy All,
I just measured the muzzle of my damascus 20 ga.

The left barrel measured an avg. of .591" inside dia.
The right barrel measured an avg. of .611" inside dia,

Can someone tell me what chokes these dimensions represent ?

Thanks for your time.

Best regards,

Jeff

Nobody can tell you what your chokes are with the information you have provided.

First you need to accurately measure the nominal bore diameter, then measure the i.d. at the muzzles and the amount of constriction in thousandths will give us the choke.

I would order a choke gauge. Here is a link.

These choke gauges are a waste of money.
You still have to know the nominal bore size to determine choke.
Better yet, pattern the thing and count the pellets. Then you'll know exactly how it's choked for that particular load.

This is the that will give you exact bore and choke measurements...

I would rather not get gouged by Tony, so I would buy this bore gauge:

You really need a bore gauge, not a choke gauge. It will tell the difference between the bore diameter and the muzzle diameter, which will give a more accurate constriction or choke.

Bill, I was not necessarily pushing CSMC rather that showing an example of the type of gage required.

I have both of the ones you showed.

Ive been waiting for a brass choke gauge like the one above ($35.) from CSMC for 2 months now so dont hold your breath... Apparently they are back ordered and they dont know when they will be avl..
