Here is my pretty Fox Sterlingworth. I have a letter and the original Leg-o-mutton case. It is a beautiful gun, and fits me perfectly.

These Fox guns lock up as tightly as a Parker, the the wood to metal fit is extremely well done. You can still buy these in good shape for around a grand, a little bit more. This gun is a non-ejector, which I like. Ivory bead. She falls right open. Fine gun. Great shooter.

Can you show us a scan of the letter? We don't see many Sterlingworth letters.

First I've got to find it. When I bought the gun the salesmen opened the leg-o-mutton case and dumped out the letter in its envelope. He said that I should remove it before I put the gun in there. I had to wait two weeks (in Calif) and when I returned to pick up the gun I had forgotten about the letter and dropped the gun into the case which crushed the letter. When I got home I found it. It was badly crumpled. I took it and sandwiched it inside the pages of a Double Gun Journal magazine, figuring over time it'd flatten out.

Now I can't find it. I recall it saying that the gun was made in 1928 and was originally Full and Full. Now it's Full and Modified. I'll search for it. I'd like to find it too. If it's still crumpled I'll iron it with my wife's steam iron, which I should have done in the first place. I'll also take some more pictures of the gun and the case. I'm trying to get better at gun photography.

I found the Fox letter! Had to go trough about 50 Double Gun magazines, which was actually a joy. Found Bell's over pressure tests, Autum 2006 if you want to look them up.

Here's the letter. It's sideways so it's easier to read.

The letter was requested by the fellow who sold the gun. That's not me. I hope I'm not letting some cat of of some bag.

Here's another picture of my Fox Gun. That's the Leg-o-mutton case below the gun.
