I finally got my new computer after the last one died and I will try to post this picture of my 28ga barrels with the I and F letters on the lugs. Any comments will be appreciated as I thought there should be a 0 on the lug. Thanks, Brad

You've got an odd one here, Brad. While I've seen the "I" with some frequency stamped into the front lug on some--but not all Repros, I've never before encountered an "F" stamped into the rear lug where you would ordinarily see the frame size stamping. I have no clue or speculation as to why or what either of these letter designations mean. Anybody...?

Hmmm, Let's see now...

"Reproduction"

or...

"fac simile"

or...

"Ipso Facto"

I'm sure Mr. Skeuse will be along with an answer before long.

Hi Guys, The first batch of 28 ga guns that we ordered had that F on the lug. They came that way from Japan. I think the manufacturer misread an accounting code we used for computer codes. I do not know what the I means. That gun must have some nice wood on it. Hope that helps

Thank You Richard. That clears that up.

Here's another one marked the same way that just showed up on GI from the big "C"

I have a 28 marked exactly the same way.

Several of us had never seen them marked with the "F" on the rear lug before, now they seem to be as ubiquitous as all get out. Here's yet another:

I wonder, never having seen the gun, how the lug is stamped on 28 gauge Parker Reproduction S/N F-1051 ? If one of us owns that gun maybe he could answer the question?

What does the "F" prefix in the serial number signify?

Dean -- where have you seen or seen mentioned any Repro having an F as a prefix in the serial number?

I don't remember Greg, but I jotted it down when I saw it. Should have jotted down where I read it...

Here's a previous answer from Mr Skeues to the same question: Hi Guys, The first batch of 28 ga guns that we ordered had that F on the lug. They came that way from Japan. I think the manufacturer misread an accounting code we used for computer codes. I do not know what the I means.

I have a Repro 28-.410 combo and the 28ga barrels have the same lug markings: I and F
in the lugs-serial 28-00952. .410 lugs do not have those markings.

I just picked up a NIB Parker Reproduction 28 gauge, guys.

The serial # is two digits, under 50, and has I - 2 - F on the lug. It came as a one barrel sale, but could the 2 mean it was the #2 barrel of a set? (I wish it was stamped OO instead of F, but...?)

It's a tight little gun which will be used for birds this fall over my Brittany's.

Great conversation on this site with the opportunity to learn a lot..!

Thank you!

Wes
