George came home with this Wesley Richard ten with 32" barrels that have a unique Damascus pattern, maybe Drew could shed some light on them. The barrels have two Damascus patterns on each barrel.

Robert: I did my best to enhance the image, but will need a high resolution ultra close up to 'read' the pattern. I think it's Laminated Steel

Barrels were made with 2 or 3 tube segments, the thicker at the breech, and it's not too uncommon that the maker didn't quite match the segments.

W. Moore with two different Laminated Steel patterns, the thicker at the breach. The patterns join in a straight line weld suggesting that the barrels were formed as tubes with one tube flared, the other coned and then butt welded together.

Thanks Drew, The barrels look to me to be a G type Croll pattern on the breach end of the barrels and a twist pattern typical of a PH type pattern on the remainder of the barrels. How common was this type of barrel making?

It looks like Greener's 'Silver Steel', but with a good pic I can tell you for sure

THIS would be an ultra close up high resolution pic :)

It could be the upper crolle pattern, but I still think it's Laminated Steel. Should be VERY interesting refinished.
