I picked up a parker 10 gauge today for 400 bucks. I will have some pictures on the way. I do appreciate the site you have set up here. Looking to learn some more information about it along the way hah.

The only faults I see on the gun as of now is just on the right hand side. The screw that holds the hammer is not original. I just need to now found a good replacement. Oh and another thing would this be a good candidate to be sent off for refinishing ? or would it ding the value of it?

Post the serial number. It appears to be an average early top lever Grade 0 or 1 Parker. They made thousands of them mostly from 1882 to 1889 but they are the guns that made Parker famous. your gun has plenty of faults and has been very well used. Good Luck with it.

Serial is 37364, so I got hurt on the gun then for that much?

Your gun is Grade 0 32" 10 g with a pistol grip in the Parker records. They made circa 3759 guns exactly like it. If the barrels are sound $400 was a good price.

Well they are pretty good I wouldnt rate them at mirror shine. It does have a few pits though =/, So does anyone know what it would be worth to restore the gun or not?

Put it back to a place where it's clean and shootable, anything further and you'll have more in it than it's worth.
I just shot some squirrels this afternoon with one of the same grade and gauge but in the earlier lifter action.
They still work just fine, the squirrels had no idea it wasn't a Benelli.
And before anybody asks, I used light 1 1/4 ounce loads for the squirrels.

DLH I'm assuming the tree rats you were shooting at wern't here in MI. A shotgun though????
I tried my hand at them eeelooosive fowl and they eluded us big time, but there will be other encounters with the fowl and the #2 frame hammer gun.

Might help if you would use a different back ground to take your pictures on.jvb
