Charlie,

I load Federal hulls, WW209 primers, 30.0 grains of IMR 7625, Remington SP10 wad with 1/4" 16 gauge filler (fiber) wad, 1 1/8 oz shot, star crimp. 1129 fps @ 4800 psi.

When I add a SpredR disk I color the primer black with a sharpie and substitute a 16 gauge over powder card for the 1/4" wad.

This works wonderfuly in my Parkers on clays and birds. In the #4 frame you hardly know you are shooting the recoil is so light.

Charlie,

I know you have Blue Dot. What else do you use and I will see if I can match it to Sherman Bell's data.

Charlie,

I looked through my 10 gauge reloading material and all I could find for Blue Dot were 1 1/2 oz loads starting with 39 grains. The pressure was forgiving in 7,000 + psi range. I have "The Mighty Ten", a book of 10 gauge loads, but have misplaced it. I do remember some Unique data, though the pressures were in the 10,000 psi area.

31grs of Unique and 1 1/4oz of shot has 7500psi at 1235fps. With only 1 1/8oz you'd probably lower pressure and up the fps. Save on the powder also. Paul

thanks paul for the info...i put all the loading info you fellas post and file it on the short ten loads...i will definatly try this loading...this gun patterns very well even though it has no choke...its hard to believe it does such a good job at 40 yards with 1 1/8 ounce shot and no choke..... charlie

Chalie,

I thought my 10 gauge lifter had no choke until Jent Mitchell measured the bores at the Southern one year. I found my bores were .802 with .030 constriction. In other words the muzzel measured .772.

The load Paul listed sounds perfect to me. Good velocity for that powder charge and will likely burn clean at low temperatures. I may have to try that one. Would be great with 1-1/8 oz also. I have a 3# metal keg of Unique to use up somehow....

What wad is used for this load Paul?

The Rem SP10. I use 19grs of 700X and the Rem SP10 wad with either 1 or 1 1/8oz loads. These are in the 7000psi range. Paul
