Aww - thanks Dave.. It's been a team effort to make all this happen. Sort of like a squad shooting Sporting Clays - everyone has a "good station" which brings the score up for the entire team. And different folks shine on different stations...

Thanks guys! It was very easy to pay for membership on-line and it helps us procrastinators that have problems mailing in the check. :)

Now how about doing the same for Parker letters?

Rich Anderson

Just how secure is this? I have never put a crdt card number on line. I'd rather get the bill in the mail and send a check. Call me old fashioned but I do shoot 100+ year old guns and I can barley work this computer:rotf:

John Dunkle
09-14-2010, 09:36 PM
Hey Rich!

It's danged secure and last time I checked, PayPal processes about $4Billion in transactions per month and if their secure technology were deemed insecure, we'd prolly found out by now? Anyway, for folks like yourself who'd rather send in a check, you bet you can do it that way!

Btw - you going to MD later this month??? Hope to catch up with you there (and bring some cookies, ok? ;) )

Best to you!

Of course, if he was to bring some 'trade goods' (like a case of JD) somebody might consider tradin a bag of cookies for it

It's great to see this new program working so well. John, do you have a count of how many have joined or renewed so far by this completely trouble-free and convenient on-line method?

John Dunkle
09-26-2010, 09:48 PM
Hi Dean and all...

First of all - many thanks! Yes, it's been a wonderful success and there is more coming to add more "web value" to those who are members, so stay tuned, ok? As well, I try to keep the first post in this thread updated with the names of the new/renewed members who use the on-line membership links.

For that, and in addition, Jennifer is tracking the members who join via USPS and she does a wonderful job. So, in total over the past two weeks alone since announcing on-line and for those who have sent in checks - I believe we are now over 80 new and renewed PGCA Members.

It's a strong message about all PGCA is and will be in the future. But that's not to my credit, but rather to the credit of each and every current PGCA member.

My best always,

John

John Dunkle
09-27-2010, 09:54 PM
And to Scott Hanes....

Thank you..!!! Your Member title is all set - and with our appreciation!

John

Dean Romig
09-27-2010, 10:24 PM
John, are you tracking renewals seperate from new registrations on those who have done so online?

John Dunkle
09-27-2010, 10:27 PM
Hi Dean..

HUH???? What did you say???

I track on-line Memberships - both NEW members and RENEWED Members? Both are equally welcomed. Is that what you are asking?

John

Dean Romig
09-27-2010, 11:15 PM
No John, I know you welcome everyone who joins or renews (you're that kind of guy - friendly, warm and sincere) I was just curious how many new members have signed on here vs. the number of renewals using this new feature. I don't think it will tell us anything - I'm just curious about the numbers split.

John Dunkle
09-28-2010, 08:19 AM
Hey Dean and all..!

Awww - I see what you mean..! Right now, it's about 80-85% are renewed vs. 15-20% new (as a SWAG).. I suspect that will change in the next few months, though - becoming about a 60%-40% (renewal - new) mix...

For mail in memberships - it's about the same right now as the on-line ratio...

Best to you!

John

Dean Romig
09-28-2010, 08:54 AM
Exactly! Thanks John, that's what I meant. Sorry I wasn't clear at first.

Greetings all. It has taken me two days to find my way through the locked doors on this website. Frustrating. But I'm in, finally, and I would like to know if anyone can suggest where I can find a two-piece wooden cleaning rod for my Repro 28 ga, DT/28, which I love. I don't know where the original was lost, strayed to, or was stolen, but I want a replacement. Any suggestions? Please, and thanks.
PS - I also own a late Remington Parker 12 ga VHE on a 1/2 frame. Anyone have any ideas as to its worth? It has 98% case colors, metal and wood. 28 inch/ DT,Splinter, PG.

Thanks again.

Jim, Welcome to the PGCA Forum. We're sure glad you were able to get through the "locked doors" on this website and hope you will be a continuous visitor here and a regular poster.
Parkers built on the 1/2 frame have a lot of eager collectors and they seem to command a pretty high price when they come up for auction or sale.

Jim Coyne
11-01-2010, 10:39 AM
I'm still a bit baffled as to how to use this forum, so I hope this is correct. Robin, I followed the link you posted for Galazan and ordered a correct cleaning rosewood cleaning rod. That was Saturday. I couldn't figure out how to thank you then. On Sunday, I went online again and this time was linked up to the payment page -- silly me, I'd thought this was a complimentary site. No problem, however, my credit card got me in as a bona fide member.

Today Dean welcomed me to the membership, along with some advice re my VHE 1/2 frame. I think I'm going to enjoy this club. Thanks again!

Terrific Jim! It's good to have you as a "bona-fide" PGCA member. By being a PGCA member you are entitled to all the functions and features of the PGCA website including a couple of things non-members can't access. You will also receive the quarterly Parker Pages, a glossy 50-page journal of the Parker Gun Collectors Association which is a gold mine of information on just about all things Parker. Again, Welcome!
