I am new to this forum. Does anyone know how many 20 guage DHEs were produced with double triggers? I have a beautiful piece that I bought new with straight stock, splinter forearm, DT, choked IC/M on 26" barrels. I have been thinking about selling it as I don't bird hunt any more. I took it to Cabela's to be appraised, but they only wanted to give $2300. Serial number is 20-11xx. In researching online, I have not found a single piece listed for sale with DT and was wondering if they are worth any more because they may be more rare. I appreciate any info anyone can give.

Cabelas will give you 60 percent of what they think they can sell it for. 2300/0.60 is $3833 and I would say that's right about where an unmessed-with 20ga repro ought to sell. Maybe some premium for double trigger.

I agree with Dave. Priced any higher it will sit just like the pack. Definitely more than $2300. Heck I'd give $3K and know I could make money on it.

Yes, double triggers are worth more. A really nice DT 20 ga with great wood and case, cover, etc. could bring $4500.

Joe and Fred, thanks for the replies. I am not really sure I want to sell it. It is probably the most beautiful, sweetest handling gun I will ever own. The wood is highly figured and everything (case, cover, snap caps, etc.)is in great condition. I was really just interested in what they would tell me.

I was fortunate enough to buy this little gun from Cape Outfitters during the clearance. I wish now I would have also purchased a .410 in the same configuration.

Jim,
Go to doublegunshop.com and list it in the FS section and I bet it sells for $3500 in a heartbeat.

I gave 4500 for one NIB with case and cover a couple of years ago. It was all Kenny's fault. I had a perfectly good single trigger 2 bbl set. Also picked up a 28 ga about the same time for the same price. Prices are down right now. In used condition Bob is probably real close on his pricing.

Your Repro has everything going for it except 28" barrels.

Straight grip with splinter forend, double triggers, IC/MOD chokes... why, it's a 'dream gun' for a lot of guys, myself included.... except I already have a few.

I also own a 20ga Straignt Grip, DT, 26" gun. Oh, how I wish it would grow a beavertail and 28" barrels!!! Other than that it is an wonderful gun that I think is worth in the mid-$3k range. If I wait 2-3 years it may be worth more...

As Bob advised, Doublegunshop.com is where I would first list any quality double.

Jim,
Not everyone wants a Long Tom in thick cover. 26", or even shorter if they'd made them, is prefect. The reason you have found mostly single trigger guns is the demand for DT guns is higher. If you are teetering on selling it you will likely regret the decision if you sell.
Good luck!

Thanks for all of the opinions and advice. I think I will be hanging on to this beautiful piece for a while. Like everyone here, I would kick myself in the morning if I did anything else.
