HI
Looking for information and value of a Large PARKER VICE - on the Left side it says: Semi-Steel / Solid Bar / Pat. Jan. 2 1806 (or 1906) / No. 49X

Right Side: The Chas Parker Co. Meriden Ct. U.S.A.

The spaces between the words indicate the separate lines.

Thank you for any and all help!

Hi Judi
With out a picture it's hard to tell, you know, condition. But if you want a good idea of what you got check ebay and look up "parker vise" and you will get some to look at and compare. Maybe even see the one you got.
I'm sure other guys with more knowledge will give you a good idea on the value.

Thank you for your advice. I'll take a picture today and get that on, plus go check out eBay. Thanks again.

Judi. Maybe Edger Spencer will weight in here. He has probably forgotten more about Parker vises than most of us will ever know. Bob

A model 49 is a medium big brute at 72 pounds, but not worth a lot because it doesn't swivel They are pretty common and go for under a hundred bucks. Sad really, but there are so many more that bring a lot. It came out just after WW1, and is a 4 1/4" vice.

Thank you, Sir for all that information! Very helpful - guess I don't have to put the pictures on now. :)
