I need help determining the model, age and value of my Parker Bros. 12 gauge shotgun. The shotgun is a double barrel 12 gauge with hammers, the barrels are made with Damascus steel. in front of the trigger guard are two dates (Nov. 13, 1866 & Mar. 23,1870), serial # 30251 and has a brass shield inlaid on top of the stock just behind the hammers.

I am a novice pertaining to guns, my brother left the gun to me when he passed away in 1972. My brother purchased the shotgun in 1950 from a friend and to the best of my knowledge it has not been fired since 1950. It appears to be in excellent condition.

If anyone can help with information, it would be most appreciated. I have attached three pictures of the shotgun, hopefully you can open these attachments.

Thanks much !!

Hello Ron,
Your Parker appears to be a Grade 2 lifter action.
Unfortunately, it has been highly buffed and polished and then blued all over. It does have some pretty wood though.
Most of its value should be in the fact that it was your brother's gun - otherwise, it is not a valuable Parker in its current condition.
