I reload shotgun shells the same way as I tie a fly---one at a time. I find that it's a good way to spend time when you're bored and it's relaxing when your stressed.

Here my reloading bench with two Ponsness-Warren 375's, one set up for 28
and .410 and the other for 12 and 20-ga.

 What a wonderful room, Dave!

Obviously, you take your reloading seriously and are a very well-organized neat freak!

I've seen that pic before, I think I said it at the time and I'll say it again: Wow!

Nothing neet about this reloading- gun cleaning bench.... but it works.

Ah yes...But this is where the 10 gauge "Turkey Slayer" loads are born!

Yes Dave, you can see the white and orange bag of copper coated fours next to the first press. I'm ready to start reloading a few different test loads..1 1/2 with the SP-10 wad that usually holds a tight pattern and a 1 5/8 and 1 3/4 with the x10x plastic nitro card. Can't wait, keep seeing nice birds around.

Bob,I can't wait either. I see those bags of Southern Bloomer cleaning patch's. Those things are the best patch in the world for my money! Is it May yet!!!?

Rich's room.

02-26-2010, 07:37 AM
Thank you for posting the pics of your bench, Bob. It appears that a whole lot of other things gets done here other than just loading shells and cleaning guns. That big Parker vice of yours is a piece of work, too!...I'd like to get me one of those.

Thanks for posting the pics of Rich's room, Dave.

:bowdown:Clean, neat, tidy, everything in its place...Rich and Dave appear to have hired the same interior decorator--must have been a former army sargeant with all those Mecs lined up like little soldiers! I gotta ask Rich...Do you really do some reloading here or is this room just set up as a mock reloading bench/display room and you have another bench where the actual reloading takes place?

Dave Suponski
02-26-2010, 08:30 AM
But Dave,I thought you did all Andersons reloading? He probably doesn,t want to get his room messy. Anyway....Very nice Mr. Anderson...:)

The picture of Rich's bench is when it was brand new. She's a little cluttered now.
Rich only loads 410, 28, and 20. I load his 16 and 12's.
You guys did notice the Jack Daniels bottles?

I would post a picture of my loading room, but our webmaster insists we use our real names. My insurance man saw my loading room one time and I had to bury him in the back yard.

You think Dave.....

Ahem... Mr. Anderson, I don't remember receiving even one call requesting my assistance in draining those bottles with you.

Hmmm, ...how many (full) bottles will you offer for one bag of Kathy's cookies??

Dave Suponski
02-26-2010, 05:47 PM
Now Dean,I would think that a bag of Kathy's cookies should be worth dinner for the whole squad. All I know is that Danny has not forgotten last years larceny...This could get very interesting......

Rich Anderson

Yes I do in fact load in the "cave" and yes it's a bit more cluttered or as I like to say....she's used and enjoyed.

Dean you did help drain some Jack at the Southern and I even let you keep the ballance AND the collector bottle.....remember. Four of the vintage JD bottles are full and awaiting a special occasion. Perhaps one will find it's way to PA. Perhaps wiskey and chocolate chip cookies:corn:

Greg, found on ebay. I did luck out as it is in really nice condition, never abused. It also has smooth jaws, I'm looking for some brass or lead jaw covers if anyone happens run into any.

John Dallas

I made my own covers using sheet copper. Easy to do. May not be elegant, but they work

Bob,Manhattan Supply Co.(MSC) should have what you need.

Thanks I may have to try that, I had a nice pair of lead ones but can"t seem to find them.

Dave Suponski

They used to have vise jaws available in lead and brass.

I better start looking on ebay.

Mr. Fabian

I occasionally come across lead (sheet form) shower pans with the work that I do. Most are between 1/8"-3/16" in thickness. If you think you could fashion jaw covers from a piece of one of those pans, let me know. I'm pretty sure I have one or two laying around.

Cheers
Marcus

Thanks for the offer Marc, I go buy the masonry supply often enough and I could pick up some flashing lead.

Marc Retallack
02-28-2010, 08:15 PM
Your welcome Robert. Just thought I'd be able to save you from having to purchase an entire length of flashing.

It is nice too keep all the powder and lead behind closed doors... away from prying eyes. Kind of cluttered with Pinewood Derby making stuff, Beer Brewing stuff and snow goose hunting gear right now.

I mostly reload 28 Ga. So I built this reloading bench for that. Billy https://parkerguns.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=113769&stc=1&d=1675531442

My loading bench has been a piece of 3/4-inch plywood with three C-clamps to attach it to a table wherever I've lived. Has three- and four-screw spots for two different style bases on my MECs. Made it when I lived in an apartment in Chula Vista, CA, 1971 to 73. BOQ at Elmendorf AFB 1974-75. Condo in Alexandria, VA, 1975 to 2002. And here in Spokane County 2003 to present.

Here's mine. Cheap kitchen cabinetry from Home Depot, pellet catcher cookie sheet discussed earlier, and a hole cut thru the top to allow completed shells to fall into the drawer

Dave and Billy are one of my own mind. Except that my TV is watched on a rear view mirror, not straight ahead like Billy or off to the side like Dave.

So, Bill: while you're watching though the rear-view mirror, are the objects you see "closer than they actually appear"? Never have figured that one out!!
