Hello, just joined.I picked up my first Parker the other day.A friend brought it by and I was enamored with it.It is a 1927 mnfg'd Trojan in pretty good shape for it's age.Very tight and shoots very well.Took it out back and checked it's pattern out.Left barrel is full, right is modified,30" barrels and not a lot of case colors left.I look forward to hunting with it.I guess it is ok to shoot modern shells in the vulcan steel barrels.Bore is very clean and shiny. No cracks in stock...Mikehttp://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l224/michaelknifenut/000_0942.jpg

Welcome to the PGCA Mike.
That's a nice looking Trojan. They were normally a hard used gun and often show signs of hard use even to the stage of abuse. You're lucky to get such a nice specimen. The Trojan 12 gauge was built on the 2-Frame and are a very stout gun. You'll enjoy it.

It appears to be a Trojan Grade gun, so it should have Trojan Steel barrels. Is your reference to Vulcan Steel barrels an error in your post or does the gun actually have Vulcan Steel barrels? It looks like a well preserved gun ready for heavy use.

Mike, all Trojans are stamped "OV" on the water table. We don't know what it means, but aside from the shape of the frame t he OV identifies it as a Trojan.

Hello Mike; Welcome aboard, very nice looking Trojan ! My first Parker was a Trojan grade as well ,Its an early gun with the rib extension in 16 Ga. ,mine is a lot rougher than yours with most of the finish gone but when I got it I knew I had something special ! Enjoy it ,All of us here can almost guarantee you it won't be the last Parker you buy, this hobby turns into quite an addiction !! Russ

Am I right on this?My gun is not a Trojan model but a Trojan grade? Thanks for your help,it very well might be the only Parker I get.I traded for it and I am about traded out. This is the first Parker I ever had the chance to get.Had a new L.C.Smith,made in Turkey. It was so fancy that I had to trade it off for a Benelli super black eagle that I hunt with...Mike
