Well, the famous 34" 20 gauge single barrel sold this afternoon for about ten grand, a reasonable price in my opinion. I would have paid that much if I were allowed any more guns in the house. Let me know if you bought the gun because I have some old information on the gun and its previous owners.

Good work, Frank. At least I know where it is. I got a call from another 20 gauge single trap owner yesterday. I think he was checking to see whether I was still alive (and possibly bidding on the 34" gun) but he never asked. Maybe I'll take mine out for a couple of rounds this afternoon.

Frank, what did you get from Griffin and Howe? I have plenty of information about his Interstate Association and American Trapshooting Association activities.

Very little. They had it listed to sell in 1969 and it didn't so it went back to the owner. The owners name they had was not his real name???? That is all they had. Frank

I really like the look of the engraving on those earlier SCs before they used all that stippling.

Are 178050 and 234305 the only SC's in twenty gauge?

Dean, I have the serial numbers in my files. I think there are five of them. Mine is 234,290. I can't find the numbers of the other three. They may be listed in The Parker Story. My neighbor up here in Western Maryland owns one, but I don't know his serial number. This Parker collecting is so much fun. I have some correspondence with the owner of one that he offered at an unacceptable price, but I don't know which one that is. Maybe I should have contacted the seller with an offer.

10+ years ago John Bridges had a almost new 20ga SBT at the Vegas show. We looked it up in the serial # book that I had just purchased and it was listed as a 12 ga.

I'm sure you have that serial number in your records, Patrick.

Oh no Bill, collecting serial #'s is not my thing. It was out of my price range and I had just purchased a 12 ga. SBT from Griffin & Howe. John asked if he could look at it and he also let me take his 20 out of the case and put it together for some swings on imaginary birds. He was a nice man and he had some really nice shotguns. Chris was there maybe he collected the serial #.

Bill, I got your info on my gun. Thank you very much. It does answer some things I was wondering about. My Griffin & Howe letter states that a "chizar" was the owner of a gun that they listed for sale. That was in 1967-1968. On May 15, 1968, they returned the gun because it did not sell. Asking price was $ 3,150.00. The owner of the gun was to get $2,000.00. With your info, I have now figure out that Mr. Chizar was the owner that had passed away and they were selling it for his family. Thank you, Frank
