Is it fitted with Titanic or Acme barrels Bruce? That is a very nice Grade 4.

Beautiful wood. How do you keep from drooling on the gun? Very pretty.

See below. While I would prefer to have the original fine Damascus barrels on it, these factory replaced Remington Chromium Molybdenum alloy barrels are known as some of the finest made. These are well tapered, nicely finished, tightly fitted and choked IC and Full. The rib is the tapered form I prefer and has two old Lyman real ivory beads.

There are many Parkers with stunning old growth Juglans regia . Although small bores in Quality C and above are seldom available, D's are generally findable and many are very nice.

Bruce,

You alway post pics of very interesting and beautiful guns and accessories. The composition of the photos is thoughtfully done, the pics are always in focus and the detail is crisp. You'll also be the cause for me to get a new keyboard, after drool shorts out the old one!!

Who made the case? It also looks to be of outstanding quality.

That case is made by Robert Cochran. In Calgary.

Out sage grouse hunting north of the Missouri Breaks east of Zortman Montana right now then down to Denton for sharptails and Huns.

I am a new owner of a 16 guage. Do I dare try to buff up the wood? The gun is all original and so much patina, my first reaction is to do nothing.

Another word for patina is crud. On stocks, scrub them with soap and water. If the finish disappears then all you had was a dirt and oil finish and now you need to refinish. Most old Parkers could use at least a top coat of french polish, tru oil, formbys or what ever you like that is a shellac and oil finish. Post photos if you want particular advise. Out chasing Huns this morning. Too hot and I'm just sitting back now listening to pheasants cackle at each other.
