This is a reminder for those that would like a tune-up prior to the up-coming fall shoots. The Endless Mountain Side X Side Challenge will be hosted at Hausmans Hidden Hollow and Rock Mountain Sporting Clays August 10th and 11th (see attached link below). I believe the event is 100 clays at each of these two shooting venues over two days. I have not been able to attend this event in the past but am looking forward to giving it a go this year and hope to see some other Parker folks there as well.

I'm pretty sure it's 50 birds at each of the two clubs = 100 for each gauge competition. Reentries with a different gauge are cheaper. You may shoot the 50 + 50 = 100 birds as many times as you wish but it's only the first one in each gauge that counts for score. Both clubs can be done on Saturday or on Sunday, or for those staying overnight you can shoot at one club on Saturday and the other one on Sunday. I understand that shooters must be in 3 person minimum squads so there are no questions on scores. Hausmann's Hidden Hollow is well known to folks here as having many grousey type presentations. Rock Mountain has more in the sky targets. All told the two club venue will be a good warmup for anything from grouse to rabbits and ducks. I have some family things going on but right now I'm planning to start out at Ernie's on Saturday morning.

Thanks for that correction Frank. I spoke to Ernie last night and he verified the 50 + 50. He also said that some folks would be shooting on Friday but the awards would be Sunday at Rock Mountain.

Larry and Deb Frey and I ventured to northeast PA this weekend for the Endless Mountain Challenge. We shot Saturday at Hidden Hollow and Sunday at Rock Mountain. We had a great time and Deb won High Ladies! Congrats Deb!

We saw a few of the usual suspects most notably Bob Rambler,Frank Srebro,Ernie Hausemann and Morris Baker of RST

Bob I apologize for not being able to meet your son and shoot the breeze for a while.

Wish I had been there. I was asked to speak at my niece's wedding Saturday afternoon and I was honored to accept.

Everybody knows "Family comes first."

Bob, That gent in the 3rd picture shot with Deb,Larry and I on Sunday. We found him lost about 2 miles from Rock Mountain and had him follow us in. Real nice guy....Even though he was shooting a Smith gun...:)

Do you mean Frank shootin that Ithaca?

Dean Romig
08-12-2013, 11:33 PM
Well, Frank isn't shooting a Fox... but he often flies in the face of convention. The Fox boys'll take care of him, I'm sure.

Frank Srebro

Yep Frank was shooting an Ithaca NID double trap gun. The Ithaca got tired of me reaching in the safe for a Fox and worked her way forward to get out shooting. Not the best gun for Ernie's grousey targets but it was a fun shoot so what the heck. Thanks Dean for the compliment.
